Beep beep
Do you remember Beep Beep the roadrunner forever being chased by his enemy, Wiley E Coyote? If so, you may be experiencing a Mandela Effect, because all references today show his name was "Wile E Coyote".
He never did catch the roadrunner, although there is a rumored spoof final episode where he actually did, then became unemployed.
It's easy to see how the spelling could be confused, especially when the show was aimed specifically at younger viewers. There's even confusion over whether there was a dot after the E or not - is this a Mandela Effect within a Mandela Effect?
The Coyote
He first appeared in 1949, and at the start had no voice. There's a co-incidence here, as he was in the original Looney Tunes series, which is itself a Mandela Effect. He's even appeared in some Bugs Bunny cartoons, and is in TV Guide's "60 Nastiest Villains of All Time".
His creator, cartoonist Chuck Jones, is said to have based his appearance on a fellow cartoonist, Ken Harris. The name early on was Don Coyote, a pun for Don Quixote. He is said to be always hungry, and the "E" in his name stands for "Ethelbert". Initially, the stories were based on regular cat and mouse chase cartoons, following the sucess of Tom and Jerry. In total 49 short cartoons were created, all under seven minutes long, between 1949 and 2014, many making use of gadgets bought mail-order from ACME, Inc.
There are actually written rules which each episode had to follow, which goes a long way to explaining why each one was so similar. Examples are "There must be do dialog apart from beep beep" and “The coyote is always more humiliated than harmed by his failures”.
There actually is an episode where he catches the road runner, but it's not the way you'd expect. It was thought to be some mythical long-lost episode, which could well have become a Mandela Effect in it's own right, had it not turned up on YouTube. This isn't the "unemployed spoof" one either, which hasn't turned up ... yet!
