Seen on TV on 9/11?
The Mandela Effect does not discriminate across religion, culture or, as seen with this one, politics. It is only concerned with facts being misremembered by groups of people, no matter what the subject is.
9/11 was a series of tragic events which are etched permanently in many peoples memories. Many of those memories were from the media being broadcast as the events actually happened on the day, but amid all the chaos and confusion some details may not be all they appear when viewed back years later, after all the dust has settled - literally.
One of those details was the report that "thousands of people" were seen on TV dancing, cheering and celebrating after 9/11. Did this happen, is it propaganda, or is it an actual Mandela Effect?
The issue is not whether any crowds celebrated, it's whether it was shown on TV.

There's no evidence of this today, but this is a special case where there might be an explanation involving censorship after the event. Clearly, the authorities might not want such a sensitive subject to be discussed openly for fear of causing further unrest. In this case, they might well pressurize anyone showing such material to remove it.
That's where the matter might have remained, were it not for one significant event - Donald Trump's insistence he personally saw the "live television images on Sept 11, 2001 of thousands cheering.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: You raised some eyebrows yesterday with comments you made at your latest rally. I want to show them, relating to 9/11.
VIDEO CLIP OF DONALD TRUMP, IN WHICH HE SAYS: “Hey, I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “You know, the police say that didn’t happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time. So did you misspeak yesterday?”
TRUMP: “It did happen. I saw it.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “You saw that…”
TRUMP: It was on television. I saw it.
STEPHANOPOULOS: “…with your own eyes?”
TRUMP: “George, it did happen.”
STEPHANOPOULOS: “Police say it didn’t happen.”
TRUMP: “There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down. I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering as that building came down — as those buildings came down. And that tells you something. It was well covered at the time, George. Now, I know they don’t like to talk about it, but it was well covered at the time. There were people over in New Jersey that were watching it, a heavy Arab population, that were cheering as the buildings came down. Not good.”

Things developed since then in 2016 with claims that quotes have been misreported, and the New York Times has since claimed to totally debunk the story. Is this a memory of a real event which has been censored, or is it a genuine Mandela Effect?
